FAQ
10. Are these single or double kayaks?
Yes!
9. Should I bring a water bottle?
Yes! With water in it!
8. What kind of training do your instructors/guides have?
Our instructors have certifications from two well-respected canoe & kayak organizations - the ACA (American Canoe Association) and/or the BCU (British Canoe Union). Instructors are also certified in First Aid and CPR and have logged many, many years on the water teaching and guiding.
7. What if there are a lot of waves?
Depending on your comfort level, some waves are fun! Sometimes water conditions might dictate an alternate route or a change in plans. Your safety is our first concern and we plan and re-plan accordingly.
6. Are your instructors/guides knowledgeable about local lore?
Of course!
5. What should I wear?
First layer: swim suit. Next layer: quick-drying clothes. Denim and cotton do not dry quickly. Succeeding layers are the same, with top layer a water resistant rain jacket if necessary.
4. What if I’ve never paddled before?
Not a problem – we are always excited to have the opportunity to introduce new paddlers to kayaking as well as challenge those with a bit more experience.
3. Do the boats tip over easily?
Not really, but we’ll give instructions BEFORE it happens so you’ll know what to do.
2. Will I get wet?
Maybe. See answers to questions 3 and 5.
