On Saturday campers will participate in a high ropes adventure, time will be reserved to be spent pool side and the day will conclude with a camp fire discussion focused on “What it means to be a SIB.”. Sunday will be filled with high energy team activities, campers will depart at 11:30am. Sib Camp is open to youth ages 8-12.
Camp Confidence: July 7-9, 2008 - 10:00AM - 3:00PM Daily
A three day camp for youth ages 10-14. Throughout the 3 days, participants will focus on self-esteem enhancement, leadership development, problem-solving and building communication skills, through the use of the high and low ropes course. Get ready to climb while being supported by the rest of the team! Lunch is included each day.
Sylvania Wilderness Adventure: July 21-July 25, 2008
Mom’s or Dad’s bring your child / children along for a 5 day and 4 night camping, fishing and exploring the wilds of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula by canoe. This parent and child trip includes all permits (except fishing licenses), canoe and camping gear, and prepared meals while you are on trail. Due to wilderness policy the trip is limited to 10 participants.
SIB Camp, Newport State Park: July 29-August 1, 2008
SIB Camp is open to children ages 10-15 who have siblings with special needs. SIBS will spend 4 days and 3 nights camping, backpacking, biking and exploring the forests, beaches and natural areas surrounding Newport State Park, located in Door County, WI. Participants will take time out of their busy schedules to enjoy the outdoors, campfires and meeting new friends. SIB Camp is an opportunity to share stories and experiences with peers who truly understand the ups and downs of life with a sibling who has special needs. This adventure is a chance for sibs to “Celebrate Me!”
“My son really enjoyed camp. He is very reserved around people and new situations. He was very nervous about going to Camp Confidence because he isn’t very strong. But after the first day of camp, he was very excited and confident and wants to go back next summer!” — Parent
